Not sci-fi, brainwashing, or subliminal messages, but an ever-changing, ever-contradictory picture of what is acceptable, unacceptable, and ideal for our lives. Television paints unrealistic, but conivncing portraits that tell us what our lives SHOULD be like. This is the beginning of the mind numbing buzz that will destroy our world if we let it.
